Monitor system output regularly
Use the inverter display or monitoring app, if supplied, to become familiar with typical system operation. Compare output across similar weather and seasons rather than expecting identical daily readings. Record warning messages and contact the installer if an alert persists or production changes unexpectedly.
Keep panels reasonably clear
Dust, leaves and bird droppings can accumulate on modules. Cleaning frequency depends on local conditions and rainfall. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and avoid abrasive tools, harsh chemicals, walking on modules or spraying cold water on hot panels.
Put safety first
Rooftops and electrical equipment present fall and shock hazards. Do not climb onto a roof or open inverter covers to clean or inspect the system. If access is difficult, wiring appears damaged, or equipment is making unusual sounds, arrange service with a qualified professional.
Keep records and maintenance details
Store installation documents, equipment serial numbers, warranties and service contacts. Keep a note of cleaning or service dates and share relevant alerts with the installer. Periodic inspection can identify visible issues, but it does not replace manufacturer instructions or qualified electrical maintenance.
For site-specific service, refer to the system provider and follow the equipment manuals.
